
Tom is the Chief Executive Officer of the Canterbury Development Corporation (CDC), the Economic Development Agency for the Christchurch City Council.
CDC is an advisor to CCC, CERA and the CCDU in the earthquake recovery process to ensure that long term thinking is incorporated in to the recovery effort, optimising the benefit from the rebuild and maximising the long term economic benefits.
The CDC recently made news by announcing it will be moving back into the Christchurch CBD, hoping to encourage other businesses to repopulate the city's centre after the 22 February 2011 earthquake that devastated the city and claimed 185 lives.
